At heart, this website is grown out of a small business located in the Midwest. With just four employees, the store has a family-like feeling of like-minded individuals who have a passion for birding, gardening and the outdoors. All of this drives us to really connect with our customers and offer them the best advice and knowledge we can to help accomplish their goals and provide the best environment for their wild neighbors. This translates to our online customers as well. Never hesitate to email or post any comments, questions, and ESPECIALLY sightings to our various websites day or night or to call during regular store hours with inquiries. A real person will answer back as promptly as possible!

Our History

This business started out as a small town owner operated business in the small town of Bellevue, NE 13 years ago. Today it is still a small town owner operated business in the Olde Towne area of Bellevue. We bring education and customer service to your hobby of birding! Our customers are more than just customers...they are our friends and we spend HOURS talking about the ins and outs of birding on a weekly basis.

About the owner: Crinda Anderson

I am the proud mom to four wonderful children, four equally wonderful dogs, and a backyard full of chickadees, woodpeckers, and cardinals. Three years ago my youngest entered kindergarten and I decided to go back to work after 15 years of being at home with the kids. I bought For the Wild Birds from my friend Patrice Wallace who had owned and operated the store for 12 years. So today my passion, besides my kids of course, are the birds and my store. I love to travel and ALWAYS take my camera with me to get lots of pictures of birds and I LOVE coming back and sharing them with my friends and customers.
